July 2019. Oxford University Press Achievement in Biosciences Prize.

Delighted to announce that another of our Honours research students has won the Oxford University Press Achievement in Biosciences Prize.  This is awarded to the student who has achieved the most or shown the greatest improvement over the course of the academic year. Well done Ryan!

 

July 2019.  UWS Summer STEM Academy.

Gillian will be attending the Summer STEM Academy at the University of the West of Scotland (Lanarkshire Campus) on Tuesday 2nd July to inform senior school pupils and student teachers about updates in sequencing methodology (in collaboration with Dr Rebecca Prescott, University of Hawai'i).  DNA extraction kit and DNA origami at the ready too!

June 2019. Ian Packer Memorial Prize.

Delighted to announce that one of our Honours research students has won the Ian Packer Memorial Prize for best project.  Well done Sofia!

April 2019. Tenovus Scotland award.

Continuing our grant success this year, our lab has been awarded an 18-month pilot research grant to look at histone ubiquitination in SMA.
