Honours students 2018-2019

Nikki McLachlan (Applied Biomedical Science)

Worked on a project to investigate sub cellular location of wildtype mouse CYTSB and also to determine if CYTSB expression is affected by inhibiting the activity of UBA1.

Gemma McTavish (Applied Biomedical Science)

Worked on the above project.

Kirsten Moodie (Applied Biomedical Science)

Worked on the above project.

Ryan Muir (Molecular and Cell Biology)

Worked on a project to compare levels of histone ubiquitination in brain tissue derived from SMA and control mice.  In addition, also worked to determine if levels of histone ubiquitination are affected in vitro following treatment of cells with a drug inhibiting activation of UBA1.

In October 2019 Ryan will start a one-year MRes in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Glasgow.

Sofia Raak (Molecular and Cell Biology)

Worked on the same project as Ryan, but utilising spinal cord tissue from a mouse model of SMA.

Sofia was awarded the Ian Packer Memorial Prize for best Honours project.
